Notpla (short for "Not Plastic") creates revolutionary packaging materials made from seaweed and plants that naturally biodegrade in weeks, not centuries. Their product lineup includes edible water pods (Ooho), seaweed-lined takeaway boxes, and compostable film that replaces single-use plastics. The seaweed used requires no freshwater, no fertilizer, and no land to grow — actually absorbing CO2 as it grows. Notpla's solutions are already used by major brands and events including the London Marathon. Winner of the Earthshot Prize 2022 and backed by serious venture funding.
